not who you want to be

I'm the type person that if some stole my identity, they'd return it. #youshouldlaugh

you deserve better

anyone who is not there for you in bad and or tough times does not deserve to be around you in good times. #youdeservebetter

which part was a lie

There's an old saying that, "you can know someone all your life, and yet not truly know them".
The hardest lessons in life are never filtered or censored - they are raw and unfettered...

by the numbers

Too many people worry about the number of friends they have in social media.
The only number that matters to me is that my real friends are the ones I can count on - in good times AND bad.
I've lost count of how many times some people have claimed to be busy or whatever - and yet they'll be posting to Facebook. So they are either not all THAT busy, or just really stupid to think their posts are what - invisible to the people they are obviously avoiding?

what really counts

The number of true friends I have is finite.
How much they mean to me is infinite.

The Knack - Rocket O'Love

A blast from the past (1991).

Personally I really liked The Kanck's album "Serious Fun", it was labelled as a "comeback" album - which it didn't achieve a new found popularity for The Knack - BUT, I found it to be a really nice combination of catchy pop, with some classic late 80s crunchy guitar.

This video for this song - "Rocket of Love", was considered 'suggestive' at the time. In hindsight this would be anything but such no were it released now. All in all I've always found this to be a fun/pop song with that (I cringe to use this term) "hair metal" guitar sound.

Sometimes a good song (to me anyways) is just that - fun, catchy and just enjoyable. I don't think it is necessary for music to always thump me over the head with some "message". I mean - musicians perfom music, that's their chosen "job(s)". If you want to be a musician - perform music, and if you want to champion a cause, do that - but when you try to do both, you lose me.

Same goes for actors - just act, ok? If you want to be "political" - run for office. Just make the choice, for it is wrong to leverage your "fame" to sway your "fans" to follow YOUR views. If you want to be an actor and then become a politician - no problem. But again - do one or the other.

There are too, too many guillable people who almost lust after fame and those who are "famous', and they seem to idolize (worship?) celebrities, and emulate the views of such....

Corporate America cares????

I was reading an AP article entitled, "To avoid overdoses, some test their heroin before taking it"...so let me get this straight - it's now a matter of there are ALOT of junkies in the USA, so let's make sure they don't o.d. by selling drug potency test kits?
Please don't get me wrong - I am not a heartless lunatic who wants anyone to die - I just find it way, way to bizarre that by not trying more methods to stop or prevent drug usage - companies are making money on addicts?
You know the boardroom mindset is, "Hey I see there's alot of deaths from people od'ing, ya know, we need to help (said in a sarcastic tone) this people. Research how cheaply can we develop and get a say...oh I don't know meth testing kits...non, no..a - wait a heroin potency test kit...how bout $1 a test strip? Really, we can do it - great - get on it and let's have to market A.S.A.P. Ah ain't it great, and with our great demand and supply system..oh ha ha..supply and demand system, we'll be rich....um...er, I mean, saving untold lives before ya know it"...
Good old Corporate America has such a huge heart doesn't it?
