Moe drops trou (3 Stooges)

Moe's reaction (because he has mice in his pants) is beyond hilarious.

Van Halen Up For Breakfast

Although this isn't an extremely well known Van Halen song - and it would NEVER be "permitted" nowadays due to the inflammatory double entendres...it IS a favorite of mine. The music is awesome, and the lyrics are so silly that they are hilarious....

word of the moment

true strength

I shared with someone I know a saying (I have created many in my life) I coined long ago :
"a strong man isn't one who can lift the most, but is one who can balance things best".

motto..rant?

I am NOT a hugely - what you would call "religious" person.
I was almost shocked to read a passage from the Bible that is pretty much my motto in/with my life :
"Refuse to let the world corrupt you"
James 1:27

It really is a bit of wisdom that is more appropriate (in my opinion) NOW than at any other time. I mean, come on, there is so-called "social" media where people spend every day bashing, insulting and rehashing hate. To me - a "social" setting is a place to gather and talk and exchange things with people you want to and choose to be around. I personally don't want to spend my time "socializing" with people bemoaning how bad, stupid or whatever others are for not agreeing with their ideologies. Back in the day, I spent some times in bars, and it wasn't to be berated, chastised or (should I say it?) bullied by other bar patrons? NO!

lyrical wisdom

There was a band from Boston named "Damone" (they were together from 2001 - 2008). A band that (in my humble opinion)should have been a huge success, but the music they played wasn't "right" for the time they played.
They have many songs that are brilliant both lyrically,as well as musically. One song is called, "When you live", that contains such a genius chorus :
When you live
Live with your soul
Not with your time
When you love
Love with your heart
Not with your mind
When you wanna be something
The world can't define
Open up your eyes
You can't fake it here
Open up your eyes

beauty is in the eye of the bee-holder

Truer words were never said. Beauty is in the eye of the bee-holder.

don't lock me up

They say (who are they anyhow) marriage is considered an institution. I guess no woman thinks I need to be institutionalized.

I'm not being shellfish

When you are young, the metaphor is that the world is an (one's) oyster. And it still is for me - but now - it is just a shell.
Don't mean to be shellfish...I mean selfish...just conveying where things are in my life.

love is like a tattoo

I've always been the kind of person that is selective in what I say and how I say/frame it.
Like I will never use the word love flippantly.
To me - love is like a tattoo...it is permanent. I never say it unless I truly mean it.
I can honestly say that anyone I said, "I love you" to, I still mean it. Perhaps in a modified way, but love none the less (in some cases - MORE).
How we express ourselves verbally is an amplification of what we say. Those who speak without attaching the truths of what they think and feel, are doing themselves and who hears it an injustice.

weathering the storm?

Well it looks like it will be a snowy weekend where I am at. But I still don't get the hype invested in "stormy" weather. The fact that pretty much any weather event is labelled, still baffles me. It's like people are looking to have the general public in a constant state of alert about everything. For example, the "storm" that is forecast to bring snow this weekend is called Harper. Now it does sound like where I am at will get a good bit of snow - and of course I realize that a system can track further in one direction or another and thereby reduce or increase how much snow actually accumulates, but the hyper state of arousal is amplified as the forecast is running anywhere from 1 - 3" of snow, to 4 - 8" of snow,to 6 - 12" of snow, and even 12" of snow.....
Times do change, when I was a child, 1 - 2" of snow wasn't considered a MAJOR event..now it IS?
School rarely was cancelled or delayed unless the roads were very treacherous

the music speaks for me

The lyrics say so very much (to me, for me and about me) :
it doesn't mean much
it doesn't mean anything at all
the life I've left behind me is a cold room
I've crossed the last line
from where I can't return
where every step I took in faith
betrayed me
and led me from my home

which part was a lie

There's an old saying that, "you can know someone all your life, and yet not truly know them".
The hardest lessons in life are never filtered or censored - they are raw and unfettered...

game on...

If life is a game - I don't know the cheat codes.

words I lived by

I used to have a simple saying I used at work...conceive it, believe it, achieve it...

and the beak shall inherit the earth?

pain the glass

There's that old (very old) analogy of how some people see the glass as being half empty, and others as seeing it (the glass) being half full..
To me...I just saw it as the glass being broken or intact...

catching more flies? why?

The old expression goes, "You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar”.
Wait, I usually see flies congregating around trash or feces or such...?

it's in the numbers

The true friends I can count on, I can count on one hand.
Whereas, those I cannot count on - requires but one finger..........

Bon Jovi - 99 In The Shade

It's funny that back in the mid 80s, I referred to Bon Jovi as "Bon Jersey"...

Afterall a mere few years later, New Jersey would become "home" to me. In fact, New Jersey will always be my "home". It's hard to live somewhere that isn't home - especially when it's the area I grew up in.

But as far as the song itself, it starts with a hint of late 50s early 60s harmonies, and builds into a full blown rockin' 80s party song.

Sorry, but any song with a chorus that includes the lyrics, "I got a party in my pocket you know I just got paid and I'm feelin' fine it's 99 in the shade..." HAS to be a good party or traveling tune in my book.

how was I born?

My Mom used to tell one of the best stories about my Dad.
When they were dating, my Dad told my Mom, "I don't know if you were thinking about marriage, as I come from a family of bachelors"......

Small Faces - Itchycoo Park (1967)

something a little "trippy" for an early sunday morning....
I first heard this song as a child via a teenage neighbor girl.I do believe she was my first crush. She'd let me sing along with her transistor radio.

plan to work

I've never yet heard anyone exclaim, "I credit my success with being unprepared".
