music to blog by...

The artist is Alizee, the song "J'en ai marre" from 2003.
For those who wish to view the "English" (titled "I'm Fed Up") version of the song (which has rather altered lyrics), you can view it here. #Alizee

inevitable...

One of the sayings I created long, long ago is : destiny can be delayed, but never denied.

never shall the twain meet......

One of the sayings in life I created is : pettiness and greatness never intersect.

cats vs. dogs - a new leash on life

A dog associates a leash with going for a walk.
A cat with a lisp signs one before moving into a new apartment.

cats vs. dogs - who let the cats out

Dogs probably walk around hearing that song "who let the dogs out" play in their heads.
cats hear that song playing and raise their paws

cats vs. dogs - state of mind

Favorite state for cats to live in : Mew Jersey
Favorite state for dogs to live in : Barkansas

cats vs. dogs - on guard

Dogs are good at guarding doors.
But in my experience(s) with cats, they will always let me in, but never let meow-t

cats vs. dogs - muse and mews

A dog sees a cat as just so many "mews".
A cat sees a dog as a muse to do diabolical things to.

cats vs. dogs - hot under the collar

Dogs associate a collar, as something they wear.
A tomcat thinks of collar as what he promises to do later to a female cat after a Saturday night together

a song with timely lyrics

This is a timely song - as it is now the time of the year when there are those, who face, what to most is a joyous time, feeling alone and with nothing to ‘celebrate’. Left feeling out of sorts and out of step...overwhelmed and so very sad. Feeling just like a shadow in the glow of so many celebrating and sharing. So even if you can count your real friends on one hand - listen to this song, and don’t give up.

One good and true friend is a gift that is not outweighed by many fair-weather friends.
They say (and who are “they” anyways?) that this a time to hope for peace on Earth and good will towards all…...and this post is my tiny expression of ‘good will’ for those who may not be walking in the warmth of this time of year (I won’t say holidays - as that may “offend” some). I hope that if anyone finds, even a little “peace” in my sentiment(s), that too, some piece of mind is experienced.

cats vs dogs - slippers

You can train a dog to fetch your slippers.
A cat will go on Craigslist to find a pair of slippers someone is giving away for you.

greed

"where there's a will there's a way", said the #greedy relative upon finding out about their inheritance at the "will" being read.

Sunday night tunes...

Some fantastic tunes to unwind on a Sunday night with. The artist is Eddie Hazel, one of my favorite guitarists. He left this world in 1992, but left a very serious mark in the music world. First with Parliament Funkadelic (if you are into amazing guitar work, you should check out "Maggot Brain" from the P-Funk album of the same name), and with a number of solo releases (though not nearly enough in my opinion).
Eddie was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 as part of Parliament Funkadelic.

cats vs. dogs - criminal intent

cats vs. dogs
For dogs digging is an instinctual activity.
Cats first draw a chalk line around the dog's body and THEN dig the hole to toss the dog into after first putting on gloves to avoid leaving any finger prints/ped prints.

cats vs. dogs - man's best friend

Dogs are said to be man's best friend.
Cats will "friend" you on Facebook, but pretend to be asleep and ignore you repeatedly calling their name....

Music to battle the flu

I am on day #4 of THE WORST case of the flu I have ever had. And this is one of the songs I have been repeating over and over and over as I writhe and flop around under the covers whilst I try to break this fever....

cats vs. dogs - sit up and beg

Dogs can be taught to sit up and beg.
Cats will go online and write snarky yelp reviews...

aquatic lesson learned

All my life, cats were always a part of my home - that is until a few years back.
Sadly no cats in my home, just an aquarium......
I did learn something recently - it was a waste to put the teeny tiny flea collars on the fish.....

by the numbers

Too many people worry about the number of friends they have in social media.
The only number that matters to me is that my real friends are the ones I can count on - in good times AND bad.
I've lost count of how many times some people have claimed to be busy or whatever - and yet they'll be posting to Facebook. So they are either not all THAT busy, or just really stupid to think their posts are what - invisible to the people they are obviously avoiding?

Alizée - Blonde (Clip officiel)

I like so many types (gendres if you will) of music, that includes "pop" music. Awhile back I discovered a French artist Alizee.

And this is one of those earworms - songs that just get in your brain and stay...

It's just a frivilous, catchy pop tune..

"the puppet has insurance and we don't"

From one of the few tv shows I used to watch - I just always found this episode to be ridiculously hilarious.

How much they mean to me is infinite.

The tale of my criminal cat

The old saying was, "curiosity killed the cat".
But my experience was, curiosity drove my cat to empty my bank account, take all my tuna and skip town driving my car.

trippy music for a Saturday

Nice and a bit ecclectic tune. It has obvious musical nods to Frank Zappa....

catitude

I was in a Dollar Store the other day, and they must have had the "oldies" channel playing.
The one song - an oldie by Paul Simon was playing. I always used to think a cat had written the song - as I originally thought the name of the song was, "You can call MEOW".........

music to get me motivated

Most will term this album to be "stoner rock", I myself call it a heavy duty conduit to a destination of relaxation. My opinion is that an open mind has greater room for a diverse range of musical appreciation. Then again, I see the closed mind as incubators of the division amongst people.

when nice isn't good (enough)?

I was thinking about an ex of mine (actually two exes), because they both gave me the same bizarre rationale for our breaking up.
Both said, "It's not you, you are a really nice guy...."
I wish I'd thought to tell each one, "Well tell me how to be bad and I'll try my best to treat you lousy".
It was just weird how two different women would break up with me using the same "compliment"?

The Knack - Rocket O'Love

A blast from the past (1991).

Personally I really liked The Kanck's album "Serious Fun", it was labelled as a "comeback" album - which it didn't achieve a new found popularity for The Knack - BUT, I found it to be a really nice combination of catchy pop, with some classic late 80s crunchy guitar.

This video for this song - "Rocket of Love", was considered 'suggestive' at the time. In hindsight this would be anything but such no were it released now. All in all I've always found this to be a fun/pop song with that (I cringe to use this term) "hair metal" guitar sound.

Sometimes a good song (to me anyways) is just that - fun, catchy and just enjoyable. I don't think it is necessary for music to always thump me over the head with some "message". I mean - musicians perfom music, that's their chosen "job(s)". If you want to be a musician - perform music, and if you want to champion a cause, do that - but when you try to do both, you lose me.

Same goes for actors - just act, ok? If you want to be "political" - run for office. Just make the choice, for it is wrong to leverage your "fame" to sway your "fans" to follow YOUR views. If you want to be an actor and then become a politician - no problem. But again - do one or the other.

There are too, too many guillable people who almost lust after fame and those who are "famous', and they seem to idolize (worship?) celebrities, and emulate the views of such....

Corporate America cares????

I was reading an AP article entitled, "To avoid overdoses, some test their heroin before taking it"...so let me get this straight - it's now a matter of there are ALOT of junkies in the USA, so let's make sure they don't o.d. by selling drug potency test kits?
Please don't get me wrong - I am not a heartless lunatic who wants anyone to die - I just find it way, way to bizarre that by not trying more methods to stop or prevent drug usage - companies are making money on addicts?
You know the boardroom mindset is, "Hey I see there's alot of deaths from people od'ing, ya know, we need to help (said in a sarcastic tone) this people. Research how cheaply can we develop and get a say...oh I don't know meth testing kits...non, no..a - wait a heroin potency test kit...how bout $1 a test strip? Really, we can do it - great - get on it and let's have to market A.S.A.P. Ah ain't it great, and with our great demand and supply system..oh ha ha..supply and demand system, we'll be rich....um...er, I mean, saving untold lives before ya know it"...
Good old Corporate America has such a huge heart doesn't it?

Relaxing with a comedy classic

What can I say about Buster Keaton? Besides being a comic legend and cinematic genius, his ability to convey humor almost entirely in pantomime. He had pride in the fact that he almost never used "title cards", it was through expressions and amazing timing. I personally have watched this one of Buster's films, dozens and dozens of times and always enjoy it.

friends,liars and fires

I'm not like many people who claim to have thousands of "friends".
My friends are my true friends. I mean - I can't stand liars. So I am cognizant of the company I keep.
To me - if you hang with liars, it's like sitting on a stove - eventually you'll get your ass burned.

some trippy motivational tunes

Some peg Nickelback as a bland and calculated band - Personally I view them as being talented musicians. This song is both a good and heavy song (musically) AND has almost twistedly (is that a word) mind-bending lyrics.

Fall is coming

Cruising for bruising

If I would have known how many times people would lie to me in life, and I was given the choice to either be lied to, or slapped in the face.......

I'd rather walk around with a permanently bruised cheek than to deal with the petty lies, that people for whatever reasons, tell.

cats vs. dogs - mute button

Dogs may hit the mute button on your tv remote thinking it says 'mutt'.
Cats will instead frantically hit the mute button, while pointing it at the dog.
Some really perfectionist cats will get a label maker and make a label that says 'mewt' for the remote
